1. Nature of Service

TheLegalAI provides AI-assisted legal document analysis, summarization, drafting assistance, document search, risk review, notice analysis, contract review, and related productivity tools.

The platform is designed to assist users in understanding and organizing legal documents. It does not provide legal representation, does not create an advocate-client relationship, and does not replace professional legal advice.

2. Eligibility

You may use TheLegalAI only if you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement or are using the platform on behalf of an organization with proper authority.

If you use TheLegalAI on behalf of a company, law firm, organization, client, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity and process the uploaded documents.

3. User Account

Users may be required to create an account to access certain features. You agree to provide accurate information and keep your login credentials confidential.

You are responsible for all activity under your account. TheLegalAI is not responsible for loss or misuse arising from unauthorized access caused by your failure to protect your credentials.

4. User Documents and Content

You retain ownership of documents, text, files, data, and content uploaded by you.

By uploading documents, you grant TheLegalAI a limited right to process such documents solely for providing requested services, including extraction, analysis, summarization, drafting, searching, and related features.

You represent that:

1. You have lawful authority to upload and process the documents.
2. Uploading the documents does not violate any law, contract, confidentiality obligation, court order, or third-party right.
3. The documents do not contain illegal, malicious, infringing, or unauthorized content.

5. Document Retention

TheLegalAI may provide different document retention options, including Analyze Only, Save to Library, and Anonymized Learning.

In Analyze Only mode, original uploaded files may be automatically deleted after processing, subject to technical and backup limitations.

In Save to Library mode, documents and related analysis may be saved in the user's private workspace until deleted by the user or as required by platform policy.

In Anonymized Learning mode, non-identifying legal patterns may be retained to improve platform quality, subject to user consent and applicable settings.

6. AI Output and Limitations

AI-generated outputs may include summaries, risk reviews, legal issue identification, draft notes, suggested next actions, extracted clauses, and answers to user questions.

You understand and agree that:

1. AI outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or unsuitable for your specific case.
2. TheLegalAI does not guarantee legal correctness, court acceptance, enforceability, or business suitability of any output.
3. Users must independently verify all outputs before relying on them.
4. Important legal, financial, compliance, or business decisions should be reviewed by a qualified legal professional.
5. TheLegalAI is not liable for decisions taken solely based on AI-generated content.

7. Prohibited Use

You agree not to use TheLegalAI for:

1. Uploading documents you are not authorized to process.
2. Violating confidentiality obligations, court orders, privacy laws, or intellectual property rights.
3. Generating fraudulent, misleading, defamatory, illegal, or harmful content.
4. Attempting unauthorized access to accounts, systems, documents, APIs, or infrastructure.
5. Uploading malware, executable files, corrupted files, or harmful code.
6. Reverse engineering, scraping, abusing, overloading, or disrupting the platform.
7. Using outputs as final legal advice without professional review.
8. Misrepresenting AI-generated output as verified legal opinion from a lawyer unless reviewed and approved by a qualified professional.

8. Subscription, Beta Access and Pricing

TheLegalAI may initially be offered as an early access beta, free trial, limited access, or invite-based service.

During beta or free trial, features, limits, availability, and access may change at any time. TheLegalAI may introduce pricing, subscription plans, usage limits, payment features, or paid tools in the future.

If paid services are introduced, applicable pricing, billing terms, refund policy, and plan limits will be communicated separately.

9. Availability and Changes

We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or limit any part of the platform at any time, including features, tools, beta access, AI models, storage, or usage limits.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or always-available service.

10. Intellectual Property

TheLegalAI platform, brand, design, software, workflows, UI, logos, text, analysis structure, and underlying technology are owned by or licensed to TheLegalAI.

Users may not copy, reproduce, resell, redistribute, or misuse the platform or its proprietary elements without written permission.

User-uploaded documents remain owned by the user or the relevant rights holder.

11. Third-Party Services

TheLegalAI may use third-party services for hosting, infrastructure, email, analytics, storage, payment, or AI-related processing. Use of such services may be subject to their own terms and policies.

We are not responsible for third-party service failures, outages, or independent actions outside our reasonable control.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TheLegalAI, its owners, developers, affiliates, employees, contractors, and service providers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, business, legal, financial, reputational, or data-related loss arising from:

1. Use or inability to use the platform.
2. Reliance on AI-generated output.
3. Incorrect, incomplete, or delayed analysis.
4. Unauthorized access caused by user-side negligence.
5. Loss of documents, data, profits, business opportunities, or legal claims.
6. Third-party service issues.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TheLegalAI, its owners, developers, affiliates, employees, contractors, and service providers from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses arising from:

1. Your use of the platform.
2. Your uploaded documents or content.
3. Your violation of these Terms.
4. Your violation of applicable laws or third-party rights.
5. Your reliance on AI output without proper review.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if a user violates these Terms, misuses the platform, creates security risk, uploads unauthorized content, or engages in unlawful activity.

Users may stop using the platform at any time and may request deletion of their account or saved data, subject to applicable retention requirements.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of competent courts in India.
